Smidge Co. is a family of friendly, nonsensical 3-d cards that fold flat and travel through snail mail.
I began tinkering with three dimensional cards when creating my wedding invitation and save the date. I wanted to develop a card that I could make myself. So with access to a laser engraver I began a trial and error process. I finally came up with a design that was fairly simple to make, could stand easily and fold for mailing.
Realizing this would be great for other types of cards, Smidge Co. was born. Over the years we've been lucky to have been in locations around the U.S. including the MoMA store and a partnership with Etsy Wholesale at the American Museum of Natural History.

Role: Art direction, design and product management
The most exciting outcome of this project was the opportunity to collaborate with Etsy and the American Museum of Natural History. Several artists active on Etsy Wholesale were invited to the museum for a breakfast reception and a day-long behind the scenes tour of the museum. Artists gathered inspiration, and were asked to create a unique piece inspired by the museum that would be sold exclusively in the gift shop.
